A great blog I've only just come across is Thailand's Troubles, which has a nice summary of the current situation.
Of course, the elephant in the room is still skirted around (for obvious reason) which unfortunately means the real systematic problems that are stopping Thailand from progressing are not being addressed.

I've commented on it there.
There are too many unfounded claims placed in crucial points to address them all, however.
StanG: You are nitpicking again!
btw, Thailand is built on unfounded claims, and people get locked up just for highlighting the lack of transpacency regarding certain aspects of one of it's core institutions.
Hobby, can you ever write two sentences without brining up LM?
That Thailand Troubles dude managed to write the whole summary of Thai crisis without mentioning it at all.
Was it on purpose or he/she honestly thought it doesn't matter enough to be included?
That just shows the insidious nature of the law, and how they have scared off any real discussion of the systemic problem at root of why the country has been held back, and democracy has not progressed.
The way the law and self censonship work is that anything less than fawning adulation is seen as disrespect.
Or it shows that the law is largely irrelevant to those living here and yet another political commentator forgot it exists.
Irrelevant ha! Tell that to the political scientists locked up, or having to run away, just for questioning your officially sanctioned version of things.
Do I have to spell it out for you again?
(that's assuming you are not part of the whole charade):
Bad things are done by bad people in the name of protecting or 'loving' a certain institution - democracy has never been allowed to develop - LM laws are a core plank in keeping the status quo.
Get it? !!!!!
Something will always be relevant to someone. The rest of the country, including current protagonists and commentators, don't care the slightest.
Thanks for the link.
